Charlemagne Lodge offers a taste of the past along with all the conveniences of the present. Perched on an elevated site overlooking the adjoining I’Anson Reserve, this elegant Victorian house is considered a Bay of Plenty landmark building. The Lodge is situated in sunny Tauranga, renowned for its high sunshine hours, stunning beaches and beautiful countryside.

This spectacular house has many original Victorian features offering exceptional boutique style accommodation and is also the perfect backdrop for weddings and wedding photography. The attractive function centre is also within the manicured grounds next to a large patio and pond providing the ideal venue for any special occasion for up to 120 guests.

Accommodation

Charlemagne Lodge has many original Victorian features, and each room is decorated in a style sympathetic to the Victorian era. The downstairs area features Kauri floors and kitchen, a comfortable lounge with an open fire, dining area and generous balconies with access to the extensive grounds and gardens. We have three guest rooms in Charlemagne Lodge, one of which is on the ground floor.

Principle Master Suite
The Principle Master Suite features an ensuite bathroom with a gorgeous claw-foot bath. Adjoining the suite is a lounge with doors to the turret and direct access to the extensive balconies, where breakfast can be enjoyed together with spectacular views of the reserve and surrounding countryside.

The room is decorated with a Victorian theme in mind as with the rest of Charlemagne Lodge, complete with stained glass and Victorian fittings and fixtures. The comfortable king size canopy bed in this room is a favourite with many guests.

Second Master Suite
The Second Master Suite at Charlemagne Lodge is on the ground floor of the Lodge. This suite offers a gorgeous private bathroom with many Victorian period features including a roll top bath, fittings and fixtures and also features a stunning antique bathroom cabinet and stained glass windows. The elegant décor is also very Victorian in hues of blue and white. The room rate includes a continental breakfast.

Twin Room
Here at Charlemagne Lodge we have a further twin room with a private bathroom. Perfect for family members or members of the bridal party. A continental breakfast is also included in the rate for the room.

This room is also decorated in Victorian theme with two comfortable single beds looking out onto the rural panoramic views and onto the Kaimai Ranges beyond.
